Here are some of the film festivals expected in 2020:
Cannes International Film Festival
Founded in 1946, in Cannes, France, the Cannes International Film Festival is highly anticipated especially by Europeans.
The event, which reached its 72nd edition in 2019, is organized by the Association Française du International Film Festival. And every year, in May, a series of prizes are offered, among which:

Even though each edition now takes place in September, the first was organized by Bill Marshall, Henk Van der Kolk and Dusty Cohl on October 18-24, 1976, at the Windsor Arms Hotel.
Berlin International Film Festival
Much closer to us, the International Film Festival in Berlin or Berlin has brought us some awards over time: The Romanian film The position of the child won the Golden Bear award in 2013, and Radu Jude won the Silver Bear for the best director with Aferim !, in 2015.
The event is organized by the Federal Government Commissioner for Culture and the Media, in Potsdamer Platz, Berlin, Germany and takes place every year, from February to March, for 10 days.

Best film (feature film) – awarded since 1951,
Best film (short film) – has been awarded since 1956 and
Achievements for the entire career (Goldener Bär honorary) – awarded since 1982
The Silver Bear
Grand Jury Prize (Silver Bear) (since 1965)
The Alfred Bauer Award is given in memory of the festival’s founder, Alfred Bauer, for the most promising film, opening up new perspectives in film art

These events may not gather in such a place as many international stars overseas, but the prizes are appreciated and well quoted.
